Job Summary
To assist in attainment of NMT objectives by developing and implementing strategies for Supply Chain, Sourcing and supplier development, production scheduling.

Essential Job Functions
1. Provide direction and evaluate progress for continued improved supplier performance with regards to quality, service, and cost.  Ensure supplier understanding of and adherence to quality and engineering specifications.
2. Execute sourcing strategy for assigned global commodities to maintain and further develop the global supplier base in support of all procurement needs of the organization.  Prepare for changes in operating strategies and market conditions while keeping with Purchasing Policies and Procedures.
3. Ensure on time delivery of purchases; communicate impending delays to internal customers on a timely basis.
4. Establish and administer contracts and agreements as necessary.  
5. Research market conditions for assigned commodities in order to effectively negotiate with suppliers, predict elements of risk, and develop contingency plans.  
6. Oversee the maintenance of the supplier performance master files.
7. Coordinate raw material planning and adherence to inventory objectives.
8. Through innovation and creative sourcing, direct buyers in cost reduction efforts.  Establish realistic specifications and expectations.  Allocate purchasing resources to achieve lowest overall cost.
9. Assure compliance to government and other regulatory agency requirements.
10. Ensure on time delivery of purchases; communicate impending delays to internal customers on a timely basis.
11. Manage the resources responsible for the scheduling process. The process includes the planning and preparation of production requirements in order to meet daily scheduling requirements while maximizing manufacturing efficiency.
12. Provide internal status and service level reports as required.
13. Monitor production order process flow to support manufacturing and customer requirements.
14. Take a proactive approach to maintaining a high level of service to internal and external customers.
15. Responsible for the flow of raw material from supplier’s dock to our dock. 
16. Monitor and maintain all raw material inventory related verification procedures.
17. Monitor and maintain transaction integrity for raw materials in the system.
18. Lead / champion the continued adherence to the ISO Purchasing requirements .
19. Create an environment that will stimulate thought, creativity and flexibility and insure commitment to Lean Management System, ISO 13485 Certification, GMP’s, and reengineering as necessary.
20. Work within mainframe environment to enter purchase orders, make inquiries regarding inventory, historical records, etc.
21. Establish & manage performance measurements for purchasing and production scheduling personnel.

Requirements
  • Minimum 8 years experience in Purchasing (5 years of management experience preferred). Knowledge of cutting edge inventory/production control and manufacturing practices and ERP methodologies.  Demonstrated commitment to working with Lean, ISO 13485, and reengineering the organization 
  • Minimum four year college degree in Business, Management or Supply Chain; MBA highly desirable. Certification in Purchasing Management preferred (C.P.M.).
