Job Summary
The Business Development Manager will report to the Vice President of Business Development and will be responsible for revenue growth associated with new Contract Manufacturing conversions within a defined territory. This BDM is also responsible for interfacing with internal Product Design & Development resources to co-sell design opportunities that present a viable path to manufacturing. The BDM must focus on obtaining new business while sustaining connection with current customers where open projects exist. As the BDM, you are expected to take full ownership of sales process from opportunity identification to formal award of business and conversion of revenue.
This position can be based anywhere in the US.
Essential Job Functions
1. This position requires approximately 70% of the time “Hunting” and 30% of the time “Farming”
2. Identify and develop high value business opportunities within the Surgical Device Technologies segment.
3. Establish impactful relationships with key decision makers within high value target medical OEM’s.
4. Develop, execute, and refine hunting strategy in alignment with NMT’s commercial strategy.
5. Independently assess overall medical OEM market within defined territory and identify key target companies where NMT’s service and capabilities have the potential to provide exceptional value.
6. Leverage existing industry network to gain access to high value opportunities within key target medical OEM’s.
7. Meet or exceed new Contract Manufacturing business conversion objectives
8. Leverage key relationships within existing OEM customer base to expand relationship network and access to additional high value opportunities
9. Develop and execute strategic initiatives aimed to further develop current customer base
10. Regularly update CRM with accurate and insightful information for shared visibility with NMT Employees
11. Maximize the value of existing customer base to secure new Contract Manufacturing revenue
12. Successfully navigate formal and informal internal networks and driving highly effective internal communication

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5-10 years of business development experience; structuring and negotiating complex agreements
- Travel up to 50%
- Established relationships with key decision makers at tier 1 and 2 medical device OEM’s
- Expertise in medical device contract manufacturing is required, experience with medical device OEMs is desired
- Self-directed and highly motivated individual with the ability to navigate large medical device OEMs and manage his/her team to build the critical relationships that translate into contract sales
- Ability to influence technical and business leaders, and project value as a full-service solutions provider
- Must possess a strong sense of urgency and personal commitment
- Execution Focused - Decisive/confident, open/candid, ability to energize others
- Able to ferret out appropriate projects in all divisions of target clients and close on those projects
- Independent and solution driven
