Description

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for operation of machines used for all machined product runs. Determines materials needed for each product and sets up machines according to specifications. Responsible for correct maintenance and cleanliness of machines.  This is a full-time position with shifts available Monday - Thursday (four 10-hour shifts) or Monday - Friday (8 hour shifts).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned)

  • One year of experience operating and maintaining manufacturing machines is strongly preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude required.
  • Ensure product quality and maintain low scrap rates.
  • Verify accuracy of pouch against written specifications.
  • Follow all Quality Control procedures.
  • Move product to the appropriate next stage of production.
  • Work with Engineering to accomplish spacing on machine layout.
  • Responsible for machine cleanliness and maintenance.
  • Responsible for minor repairs.
  • Regular attendance.
  • Abide by all safety and security rules set by the company and regulatory agencies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Set up machine according to the instruction sheet and Bill of Material for the specific product.
  • Maintain machines according to required amounts for each order.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines.
  • Experience reading and understanding regulations, standards, drawings, and procedures.
  • Mathematical skills needed to count products.
  • Good eye to hand coordination required.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

This position is exposed to moderate to loud machine noise. There is also exposure to airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, and exposure to vibration and moving mechanical parts. May be exposed to inclement weather when moving between buildings on site.
