Description

We are seeking a HR Manager to oversee our operations in Europe/UK, with indirect supervision of an HR Specialist in France. The position is based at our busy UK headquarters in Paignton, Devon.
 

Role Description:

  • Collaborating with our external HR consultancy to ensure all policies and procedures, forms, and handbooks are current and accessible to employees and managers.
  • Overseeing the recruitment process, from drafting job advertisements to shortlisting candidates, conducting interviews, and extending job offers.
  • Ensuring Terms & Conditions of Employment accurately reflect the employee’s current employment status.
  • Managing all onboarding and offboarding processes for permanent and temporary staff, including right to work verification, issuing contracts and starter paperwork, delivering inductions, and conducting exit interviews.
  • Regularly issuing reports and KPIs for senior management.
  • Handling employee requests for information.
  • Participating in formal employee relations meetings, including probation reviews.
  • Overseeing all disciplinary, grievance, attendance, and capability cases with managers to resolution.
  • Providing daily advice to managers on employee relations matters and staffing issues.
  • Staying informed about relevant legal developments and advising management on compliance and risk factors.
  • Working closely with payroll to ensure changes are recorded and to resolve any queries.
  • Managing absence, including conducting return-to-work interviews and monitoring absences.
  • Reviewing and monitoring performance appraisal cycle.
  • Ensuring accurate filing and management of all HR documentation.
  • Developing and administering UK benefits packages.
  • Leading the Employee Events Program.
  • Updating and monitoring Staff Noticeboards.
  • Performing all other tasks as directed by senior management.

Education and Experience:

  • CIPD Qualification preferred.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is essential.
  • Previous experience as a HR Manager is desirable.
  • Knowledge of French language and HR practices in France would be advantageous.
