Job Summary
This is a hands-on role to evaluate WIP and manufactured finished goods for compliance to product specification.
Essential Job Functions
1. Perform inspections of WIP and manufactured finished goods for compliance to product specification and defined criteria in accordance with established Quality plans.
2. Collection of samples in accordance with defined sampling plan.
3. Test material and production in accordance with established AQL levels.
4 Maintain inspection records as complete, accurate, and legible.
5. Approves release of incoming materials to inventory.
6. Analyze and interpret findings, computes and provided statistical analysis as required.
7. Control, tag and segregate non-conforming product following “On Hold Process” coordinating all “On Hold” activities.
8. Issuance of CA’s, coordinates status and follow up with various departments.
9. Confers with internal departments regarding inspection results, and recommends corrective actions.
10. Observes and monitors for trends.
11. Performs statistical analysis of data.
12. Execute “Material Review Board” decisions: ie accept, re-work, sort, scrap.
13. Calibrates assigned test and measurement equipment.
14. Audit production activities for compliance with non-product specific Quality requirements i.e. product handling and clean room protocols.
15. Maintains assigned measurement tools and gauges as current in calibration system.
16. Participate on internal audit teams.
17. Assist supervisor with assigned tasks.
Requirements
- 2 year Technical degree preferred
- Minimum 2 years QC experience in working in a manufacturing environment or relevant experience gained though coursework.
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Excellent arithmetic skills
- Ability to read blue prints
- Ability to effectively use measurement and test equipment
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working in MS Word and MS Excel (creating spreadsheets & graphs)
- Minitab or similar program required
Physical Requirements
Standing: Remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time. 50-75%
Handling: Seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with hand or hands. Also includes finger dexterity. 50-75%
Bending: Stooping, crouching, full back and leg flexibility. 25-50%
Kneeling: Bending legs at knees to come to rest on knee or knees. 0-25%
Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. 50-75%
Lifting: Picking up and movement of objects. May involve carrying as well. 25-50%
Climbing: Ascending or descending using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized. 0-25%
Vision: Ability to see and recognize detail. (Corrected or uncorrected.) 75-100%
Repetitive Motion: Recurring movement of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. 0-25%
Pushing/Pulling: Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force to provoke movement, or to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion. 0-25%
Twisting: Moving in a contorted motion, usually involving the back, and usually repeatedly. 0-25%
Sitting: Remaining seated for a period of time, in one position. 0-25%
Walking: 75-100%
Pay Range: $18.00 - $26.00 + $2.50/hr shift differential
Pay is dependent on multiple factors, including job related knowledge, skills and experience.
