Job Summary
Gain a comprehensive understanding of the various HR functions including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, employee engagement and compensation/benefits.
This is an in-person internship. You will be required to work at our Buffalo, NY office.
Essential Job Functions
1. Support varies projects such as Policy Review and Compliance and Salary Compensation.
2. Assist with employee relations by observing how conflicts are addressed, grievances are handled, and employee morale is maintained.
3. Sorts and distributes mail and incoming checks to correct department.
4. Upkeep bulletin boards, removes dated announcements, and ensures pleasant display of posters/employee communications.
5. Supports the recruitment process by scheduling/completing phone screens for manufacturing, coordinating pre-employment testing and preparing new hire orientation packets.
6. Maintains high level of confidentiality.
7. Accurately and timely maintains all employee files/filing.
8. Maintaining friendly and welcoming demeanor to our visitors, vendors, customers and applicants.
9. Supports administrative duties for the HR department.
10. Provides support to other HR activities as requested.
11. All other duties as assigned.

Pay is dependent on year of schooling.

Requirements
- Pursing a degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field
- Must be in good academic standing
- Comfortable with MS Office (Word, Excel, PP)
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability and willingness to interact with all people in a sensitive, responsive manner
- Excellent verbal, and written communication skills; Active listening skills
