Job Summary
The Buyer/ Planner position is a key role within our strategic plan for global Supply Chain management and ensures accurate planning data and purchasing of raw materials to meet the production plan requirements. This role is responsible for coordinating the daily/weekly scheduling production requirements as well as monitoring the inventory to ensure that we have no stock-out or over-stock situations.  Excellent organizational skills, ability to balance short term priorities and analytical skills are a necessity.  Key objectives will be achieving/improving/exceeding targeted customer service levels, balancing inventory levels and issuing Work Orders to the Production Floor within the supply chain in support of a mixed-mode manufacturing operation using established Purchasing Policies and Procedures. 

Essential Job Functions
1.  Plan and prepare production schedules for GCDR and NMHS.
2. Work within mainframe environment to enter purchase orders, make inquiries/ decisions regarding inventory, historical records, etc. for assigned areas.
3.  Responsible for securing capacity and preparing suppliers for production flow strategies to ensure on time deliveries to the Company. (React to the increase variation from forecast and/or customer demand to take the appropriate actions within the supply chain.)
4. Proactive approach to maintaining a high level of service to internal and external customers.

6. Collaborate with the cross functional teams (Sales, Demand Planning, Supply Chain & Product Development) to ensure that production schedules can be executed in the planned time frame regarding capacity and material availability.
7. Manage supplier performance, including creating and acceptance of PO shipments, adherence to on time delivery and quality reject rates.
8. Support ERP projects for data clean up, implementation, and sustainment.
9. Special Projects centered around data integrity and continuous improvements as determined by manager.
10. As necessary, manage change within time fences (due to emergency production concerns, expedites, equipment, problems, etc.).
11. Initiate the setup and onboarding of new supply chain vendors.

•    PPV and EBITDA Savings (NET SAVINGS)
•    Accurate ATP dates

Requirements
  • Four-year College Degree in Business or Engineering or comparable experience
  • 2 to 5 years Planning and Scheduling Experience preferred
  • Demonstrated commitment to working with TQM, ISO 9000, and GMP’s
  • Working Knowledge on KanBan and Lean Manufacturing Principles preferred
  • C.P.M. or APICS certification preferred
  • Oracle Experience is preferred
  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills, team player, results oriented in a fast-paced environment
  • Above average verbal and written communication skills
  • Customer Service interface desired
  • Intermediate to Advanced PC skills (spreadsheet, word processing)
