Job Summary
Manage technical aspects of new sales product design opportunities and prospects for the most complex product design and applications as needed.  Provide technical support to Business Development team for application and device area of expertise and promote overall sales.  Responsibilities include providing solid technical solutions to meet customer needs, making technical and business recommendations to support strategy development, providing product configuration support, applying value engineering and risk analysis to system design.

Essential Job Functions
1. Support Business Development team to Identify, develop and help secure primarily new product design business for NMTDM.
2. Provide technical leadership to existing, new and potential NMTDM customers.
3. Direct cross functional activities related to key internal technology initiatives (i.e. Wearables Lab, internal application testing capabilities etc.)
4. Develop a comprehensive knowledge base of applicable technical capabilities and support key initiatives aimed and incorporating those technologies into commercial focused solutions. 
5. Identify, evaluate and qualify sales opportunities with NMTDM criteria.
6. Continuously develop appropriate business relationships with applicable vendors, partner companies, technology developers, industry thought leaders and institutions. Identify ways to leverage these connections in the development and delivery of industry leading solutions.
7. Monitor business/market trends and areas of expertise, identify technology trends and opportunities of technology development that provides competitive differentiation, supporting strategic business planning.
8. Interface with all functional areas of NMTDM as necessary.

Requirements
  • BS Engineering required
  • 5-10 years of medical device design and manufacturing experience (ideally in surgical instruments and/or complex device assemblies)
  • Preference for candidates who have taken multiple device designs from ideation through commercial manufacturing

  • An entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to visualize manufacturing viability from as little as a napkin drawing or a conversation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Proven ability to perform effective research.
  • Ability to effectively strategize. 
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize. 
  • Strong time-management skills.  
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment (Business Development, Project Management, etc…) to complete tasks and gain new business. 
  • Ability to adapt to change and be flexible in a changing business environment. 
  • Strong sense of urgency. 
  • Knowledge of CRM or similar sales system. 
  • Demonstrated Computer skills and abilities with Windows programs including Word and Excel. 
  • Ability to frequently travel (+50%...with minimal notice).
  • US Based; must live near a major airport.
  • International experience preferred: but not necessary.
