PURPOSE SUMMARY
Provide Manufacturing Engineering leadership/mentorship to ensure engineering teams are aligned to the business strategy of the department/company. Represent manufacturing as a leader/team member to support new product development and continuous improvement through the role of core team member and/or continuous improvement leader. Understand and possess a business acumen to prioritize work load to align to business goals. May serve as backup to the Management Representative for the location. May have direct technician reporting structure. May influentially lead engineers.
JOB DUTIES
1. Drive operations and new product/process development activities
2. Drive system changes (GWIs GSOP forms) and business systems (Line Balance work content tools)
3. Mentor/Lead the validation of equipment and processes as required (IQ OQ PQ)
4. Mentor and implement capacity planning cost improvement and facilities layout for equipment moves and additions
5. Perform operator training for new and existing processes
6. Lead discussions with resources such as suppliers and other sites to resolve technical issues or improve processes or products
7. Assess process capabilities prioritize process improvement opportunities. Innovate and implement process improvement activities
8. Leadership of cross functional project teams
9. Review prints for new and existing products
10. Follows GWI's GSOP and owns MPs to ensure control of product/process design
11. Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in science or engineering discipline
5+ years experience Applied experience using LEAN and Six Sigma tools Leadership and mentoring capabilities with statistical analysis
Ability to work well/Lead multiple cross functional teams
Proficient technical writing skills Experience with leading risk management documentation
Proficient time management skills
Demonstrated fixture and tooling experience
Solid Works experience
Supervision of technical resources as needed
