Description

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for product and employee scheduling in the production area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned)

  • Assign employees with the appropriate skills to respective production tasks.
  • Continuously coordinate with the production manager to ensure proper flow of products.
  • Coordinate with Production Manager on orders and shipping dates.
  • Communicate Production Manager’s directives, production goals, and deadlines to the team.
  • Responsible for producing quality parts.
    • Coordinate with Quality Control on product issues.
    • Coordinate with engineering on machine issues and maintenance.
    • Ensure that all products adhere to FDA and ISO regulations.
    • Continuously look for improvements to the lean and 5S systems.
  • Track scrap and down time on production lines/ machines.
  • Ensure company policies and procedures are followed to ensure conformance and consistency of products. Remain current on all company policies and procedures.
  • Report safety issues to the Safety Committee and the Production Manager and ensure that safety guidelines are followed by the production team.
  • Set achievable and realistic production goals for employees based on demand, history, timing experience and company needs.
  • Ensure all training is up to date and documented.
  • Attend meetings with program managers, engineering, and quality on new projects.
  • Communicate production needs to manager and other departments.
  • Lead with positive attitude, respect, and good work ethic.
  • Coordinate and lead up to 10 associates, know when to take personnel issues up the chain.
  • Ensure all documentation is filled out properly.
  • Build a strong team.
  • Demonstrate respect fellow leads, management and all employees.
  • Attend all available classes and trainings.
  • Work with Manager and Quality on all complaints and non-conformances.
  • Attend MRB meetings and root cause meetings when required.
  • Ensure rate per hour and ship dates/completion dates are met.
  • Perform 5S and lean manufacturing on lines, per production manager’s request.
  • Regular attendance.
  • Abide by all safety and security rules set forth by the company and regulatory agencies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum two years manufacturing experience required
  • One year previous supervisory or lead experience strongly preferred· Experience working in the medical device manufacturing industry preferred
  • Mechanical ability
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required

Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required
  • Proven leadership abilities

Physical Requirements

This position requires the physical ability to:

  • Frequently remain in a stationary position for long periods of time.
  • Frequently use hands and fingers to manipulate small pieces.
  • Occasionally move between buildings and offices
  • Frequently operate a computer and other office equipment
  • Constantly and successfully communicate with employees and managers, discern and convey emotion, and understand and exchange accurate information
  • Occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds
  • Constantly recognize detail, inspect documents and product, observe behavior, and recognize potential violations or hazards
  • Occasionally ascend/descend stairs to access work areas
