PURPOSE/SUMMARY (Brief overview of why job exists, general purpose for position)
This position has responsibility to oversee the training at the Norwalk, Ohio facility. This position maintains the quality system and MP training records and acts as administrator for the electronic signature platform. Key areas of accountability include budgeting, coaching & training of trainers, supporting leadership with site & department training goals, creating & maintaining competencies, and qualifications.
JOB DUTIES
Strategic
• Provide input and data to support the business ongoing and strategic planning process.
• Participates as a member of the operations team in making cross functional operational decisions and improvements.
Training
• Provide guidance to teams drafting training plans and the risk & difficulty ratings for Manufacturing Procedures.
• Process change orders ensuring all elements (cover page, MP, training plan) comply with our quality system.
• Coordinate and facilitate new hire onboarding.
• Maintain Quality Management System (QMS) training matrix ensuring employees are trained to the correct documents and revisions.
• Offer support, expertise, and consulting to functional managers in the assessment of training needs, the design of appropriate training & development interventions, and the design of implementation strategies/plans.
Miscellaneous Responsibilities
• Fully embrace the quality system to identify opportunities and drive continuous improvement.
• Participates as needed in Scrap and CAPA meetings to resolve quality issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the efficiency of the company.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. • BS/BA Degree (Management, Adult Education or Instructional Design preferred) OR the equivalent in years of related experience.
• 3+ years facilitating classroom workshops and web-based instruction with live & remote cross-functional audiences.
• 3+ years instruction and curriculum design experience.
• 3+ years conducting on the job training, manufacturing environment is preferred.
• 1+ years of relevant life-sciences industry experience (medical device, pharmaceutical/biologics) is preferred.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
• Experience serving as an internal consultant providing support to all levels of the organization (exempt and non-exempt)
• Knowledge of GMPs
• Experience supporting the learning and development needs of an Operations environment strongly preferred
• Ability to effectively manage multiple, simultaneous activities and establish priorities successfully
• Ability to communicate effectively and confidently verbally and in writing with people at all levels of the organization, both on-site and remote, and with vendors
• Proficiency with common software packages
• Organized, detail-oriented, and quality focused
• Ability to maintain confidentiality, lead projects and work independently without close supervision
• Possess a high degree of self-reliance, initiative, creativity, and adaptability
