It's an exciting time to join our team, and we're hiring for a full-time Sr. Staff Accountant at our New Richmond, WI location. This role will serve as the primary backup for payroll and provide guidance and support to junior staff in accounts receivable and accounts payable. The hours for this position are during core business hours, 8AM-5PM Monday-Friday.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

General Ledger & Period-End Close:
  • Lead the preparation and posting of complex journal entries
  • Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies
Payroll (Primary Backup):
  • Serve as primary backup for payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Coordinate with HR on payroll changes, benefits, and deductions
  • Assist with payroll reporting and year-end filings (e.g., W-2s, 941s)
Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable Support:
  • Provide oversight and support to junior staff handling AR and AP functions
  • Review AR and AP transactions for accuracy and compliance with company policies
  • Assist with escalated issues and process improvements in AR/AP workflows
Process Improvement & Automation: 
  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement automation tools
  • Develop and maintain Excel-based models and templates to improve efficiency and accuracy
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance financial systems and reporting capabilities

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience, including GL and close responsibilities
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros)
  • Experience with accounting and payroll systems (e.g., NetSuite, ADP, Paychex, QuickBooks)
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Proven ability to lead initiatives and mentor junior team members
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial automation tools (e.g., Power BI, Alteryx)
  • Knowledge of internal controls and audit preparation
  • Demonstrated success in driving process improvement and operational efficiencies
