Together, we aim to meet the evolving needs of medical devices, enhance component miniaturization, and improve the maneuverability of small and precision components, ultimately contributing to improved device functionality.


It's an exciting time to join our team, and we're hiring for a Buyer/Planner. This position is responsible for purchasing materials, supplies, consumables, software, hardware, equipment and services based on the current and forecasted demand. This position is also responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly scheduling of all Production presses and secondary operations in a fast paced, ISO13485 manufacturing environment. The hours for this position are Monday-Friday, 7:00AM-3:30PM.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
 
  • Determine raw material requirements based on new orders, computer generated MRP information and customer forecast
  • Monitors the flow of materials to establish min/max levels of materials required to meet production needs
  • Review production schedules and identify and report any materials capacity restraints
  • Communicate with suppliers to place orders, follow up with orders, request for quotes (RFQs)
  • Work with Quality Control and suppliers to determine disposition and corrective action of defective material in a timely manner
  • Negotiate with suppliers for pricing, delivery dates and services
  • Identify potential sources for new products and materials
  • Process purchase orders and maintain raw material inventories
  • Collaborate with internal Warehouse Coordinators on delivery dates
  • Complete supplier evaluations per policy
  • Maintain new supplier information, including quality certifications
  • Collaborate with engineering to identify new purchased materials and components
  • Ensures thoroughness, accuracy and great attention to detail with entering information in the ERP system
  • Ensures thoroughness, accuracy and great attention to detail when scheduling production jobs and maintenance downtime in the ERP system
  • Plans, schedules and monitors the flow of production and development jobs through the production process to achieve on-time delivery
  • Review production specifications and identify and report any machine and materials capacity restraints
  • Review and evaluate production progress, work in process, raw materials and finished good materials
  • Revise production and development schedules when required due to sales order changes, material shortages and capacity constraints
  • Collaborate with interdepartmental teams to identify schedule and delivery needs
  • Model Isometric core competencies and support Isometric ISO13485 continuous improvement efforts.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience highly preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of Buying and Production Planning experience required
  • Working knowledge and experience with ERP systems; preferably Epicor
  • Knowledge of ISO13485 requirements preferred
  • Intermediate level computer skills in the use of MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Basic reading, writing, math skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and organizational skills
  • Positive attitude with exceptional customer service mentality
