Job Summary
The tool room manager position requires the use of equipment such as a Proto Trak DPM3 3-Axis mill, Proto Trak Lathes, surface grinder, Fanuc Wire EDM, computer, and various other equipment, while working with Engineer’s to design and create prototypes, fixturing, modifications to parts, to meet our customer needs.
Essential Job Functions
1. Work closely with Engineer’s on design of prototypes and/or fixturing.
2. Read blueprints and use necessary measuring devices to make, or modify existing tooling, tools for new or old job prints.
3. Proficiency in the application and use of a wide range of machine tools including, but not restricted to, conventional and CNC turning and milling, grinding and drilling.
4. Repair or requisition replacement parts, tooling or hardware as needed to maintain adequate stock.
5. Measurement and inspection techniques using a variety of equipment.
6. Check tooling in and out of tool room computer.
7. Maintain proper housekeeping and safety standards i.e., proper use of personal protective equipment.
8. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
9. Ability to work flexibly as part of a team.
10. Knowledge of computer aided design software, SolidWorks, BobCad-Cam, ROBOCUT-CAMi
11. Knowledge of tool room equipment and safety.

Requirements
- High School/Vocational School Diploma
- Journeymen Certification
- 3 – 5 years of experience in a production environment
- Wire edm experience, a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work flexibly as part of a team.
- Knowledge of computer aided design software, SolidWorks, BobCad-Cam, ROBOCUT-CAMi
- Knowledge of tool room equipment and safety.
- Ability to prioritize, based on outside processing lead times and required task completion dates.
