Summary
Production of all printing plates required within our manufacturing operation. Wet Offset, Dry Offset and Flexographic printing plates, both analog and digital. Produce plates to meet production schedule and customer ship dates. Coordinate activities associated with the production of photopolymer plates; including the use of electronic software applications to prepare files for plate imaging and the operation of all processing equipment involved in the platemaking process.
Essential Job Functions
1. Ability to mount multiple types of plates on several types of media.
2. Use of Digital Workflow systems to generate film and plates.
3. Ability to change out large and small cylinders.
4. Perform routine maintenance on plate making equipment.
5. Read and understand daily press schedules.
6. Technical problem solving (process & equipment).
7. Report shift activities.
6. Cover alternate shifts if needed.
8. Read and understand proof docs, factory orders, job jackets and plate orders.
Requirements
- High School education (technical emphasis)
- Knowledge of pertinent ISO procedures
- Good mechanical. Math, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Technical problem-solving skills
- 2 years previous platemaking experience preferred.
- Good understanding of/good computer skills
- Ability to understand and follow standard operating procedures.
- Process photopolymer plates, adhering to the highest standards of quality while controlling waste in the plate-making process.
- Operate/maintain equipment utilized in the plate-making process.
- Crosscheck films/files with customer approved specifications prior to producing plates.
- Provide quality (QC) checks for all produced plates including established shop order ticket document signoffs for yourself and as a secondary check for fellow plate techs.
- Interpret shop paper, proofs, drawings, and blueprints.
- Use standard metric and English rules.
- Perform preventive maintenance.

- Willing and able to perform all functions related to specification requirements, internal Job Jacket Review Procedure, filing.
- Computer Skills: Ability to work with industry standard software and workflows.
Physical Requirements:
Standing: Remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time. 75-100%

Pay Range: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour plus $2.50 shift differential.
Pay is dependent on multiple factors, including job related knowledge, skills and experience.
