Job Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer will provide engineering support to manufacturing operation on a routine basis. Develop and improve manufacturing methods, systems, and processes to produce high quality products at optimal cost. Act under supervision of Engineering Manager on multiple assignments of moderate scope and complexity.

Essential Job Functions
1.    Production Support and Troubleshooting: Provide engineering support to manufacturing operation on routine basis.  Address product related issues arising on the production floor. 
2.    Designs, develops and coordinates the testing procedures required in the evaluation and/or inspection of manufacturing processes required to meet customer specifications.
3.    Continuous Improvement and Cost Reduction: Continually improve manufacturing methods/systems and process/ product improvements to optimize product performance and reduce manufacturing costs.  Identify and evaluate opportunities using lean manufacturing principles and make specific recommendations for adoption.
4.    Concurrent Engineering: Support new product development or existing product line extensions/modifications by ensuring new products or manufacturing processes are designed to facilitate ease of manufacturing and to produce quality, cost effective products with optimized yields.
5.    Define and generate all required documentation in support of manufacturing products and processes.  These include: Engineering protocols, pFMEA, Validation reports (IQ/OQ/PQ), manufacturing instructions and procedures.  Ensures compliance with GMP’s and internal protocol.
6.    Determine specific requirements of manufacturing operation in order to specify equipment, fixtures, and process parameters.  Collaborate on design with suppliers as well as internal/external engineering stakeholders
7.    Plans and conducts experiments including collecting and analyzing data from testing on materials, machines, and prototypes. May operate complex equipment for measuring electrical, mechanical, or physical properties.
8.    Create 2D & 3D CAD drawings following engineering standards
9.    Research new materials, designs, and manufacturing processes
10.    Provides technical assistance to Manufacturing, Quality Control, NMT Engineering and other departments as requested or assigned.
11.    Abides by all general rules outlined in the NMT Employee Handbook, as well as all safety and security rules set forth by the company and regulatory agencies.

Requirements
•    B.S. or A.S. Degree in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering preferred
•    1-5 years’ experience in Manufacturing or Process Engineering field strongly desired
•    Experience with medical device manufacturing preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
•    Understanding of manufacturing processes, both manual and automated
•    Experience with CAPA’s, MRB’s, and/or NCMR’s
•    Experience with statistical analysis of production processes
•    Experience with equipment and/or process qualifications and validations (IQ, OQ, PQ)
•    Proficiency with Microsoft Office 
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills required with the ability to determine the needs of customers, co-workers, and other departments
•    Maintains professional interpersonal and teamwork skills to work with co-workers and other departments
•    Flexibility in order to adapt to frequent changes while remaining calm
•    Ability to multitask and prioritize in order to meet deadlines
•    Effective analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills
•    Must have high level of creativity and development ability
•    Hands on skill set; ability to troubleshoot
